We know that it is sometimes not possible for our awesome Ragnarians to get a full team together and we still want you to have an amazing Ragnar experience! The following are the options you have to run the event without a full roster:
Road Event:
- You can keep looking for replacement runners. While we won't be able to add them online in the week prior to the event, we can totally add them onsite when you collect your bib and shirts, etc. It will only take 10 seconds to sign a waiver on an iPad.
- You may run with fewer runners. Your teammates will divide up the remaining legs/loops in any fashion that is appropriate for your runners. We don't need to know which runner is on course- just send someone to the exchange. Note: This option would move your team into the Wildcard division- meaning your team is running just for fun, and not obligated to follow the standard rotation of runners and legs. As such, your team is also ineligible for the top in each division award.
- You can skip those extra legs entirely. If you are running a trail event, you will just let the timer tent know your team number and which loop you are skipping. This allows us to know which loop your team is on at all times. If you are running a road event, you will text the Race Command number in the Runner Packet or Ragnar App, letting them know your team number and which leg you are skipping. This allows us to know which leg your team is on at all times. This option will move your team into the Wildcard division.
- You can do a combination of options 2 and 3. Run the legs/loops that you want and skip the ones that you don't want. This option will move your team into the Wildcard division.
Trail Event:
- You can keep looking for replacement runners. While we won't be able to add them online in the week prior to the event, we can totally add them onsite when you collect your bib and shirts, etc. It will only take 10 seconds to sign a waiver on an iPad.
- You can run the race by filling in empty slots with anyone on your current team roster. In this scenario you are still eligible for placement awards.
- You can skip the loops you don't have runners for. If you do this, you need to tell the timer in the transition tent which loops you will be skipping before the loop is supposed to be run. An example of this: if you were missing runner 4, then runner 3 runs the red loop, then runner 5 would go right to the yellow loop. In this scenario, your team will not be eligible for awards, but you will still get the finisher medals.
